Hi, I’m Clare
I originally started practising Pilates 14 years ago however it wasn’t until I experienced my own health issues a few years ago that I really embraced the world of Pilates and went on to become a qualified teacher.
My motivation and personal experience
The catalyst for my motivation has very much been my personal experience of having 2 hip replacement operations at age 39. I had predominantly led a lifestyle of dance, health and fitness from a young age, however early onset Osteoarthritis in both hips overtook my body and my way of exercising changed completely.
My hip problems had a knock on effect on the rest of my body and I had muscular and alignment problems with my knees, back, neck and shoulders. Pilates corrected a number of the bone and muscle alignment and strengthening problems I had and gave me my health and life back.
The teachings and benefits
I would love nothing more than to pass on the teachings and benefits of this wonderful way of body conditioning. I know more than most what it’s like to have deteriorating mobility issues so my main goal as a Pilates teacher is to help my clients explore, strengthen and improve their movement patterns.
Clients can take what they have learned in the studio and apply it to their everyday lives, with the general consensus being that by incorporating Pilates into your daily tasks all your movements will be more efficient. For me, Pilates is not just practicing and teaching a series of exercises, it’s a way of life.
